Our Uncle Bala: Top Indian Global Leader
Uncle Bala
When on 25 May 2012, The Economic Times published their list of Top 10 Global Indian thought leaders; the entire Great lakes proudly celebrated the moment. The reason was Uncle Bala featuring in the list along with other Global Indian thought leaders. That was the moment of great pleasure for every one of us to see his presence there.
In today’s time when the distances don’t matter and the information travels at the speed of light across the globe, the global thinkers are one of the key directors of future. Their influence on the society anywhere on the planet plays a very vital role, particularly readying the people for tomorrow. Their contribution as academician on global platform is acknowledged with excellence.
And one such stalwart to the cause is our Uncle Bala, who has consistently contributed in developing the global arena. He is one of those who have set standards on global platforms. Few of his contributions are setting up higher education institutes like ISB, MDI and Great Lakes, providing executive education for various companies and the government, consultant to senior management in industry, as well as to the U.S. Air Force and serving as a consultant to Dr Manmohan Singh when he was the finance minister. His work has earned numerous scholastic honors, awards, and fellowships and he authored more than 55 research articles. He is also the recipient of the fourth highest civilian award of the Government of India the ‘Padmashri’ in 2001.
We are very privileged that Uncle Bala’s thoughts and actions are chariot of our future. Please accept our congratulations and complements for this landmark.
